Women’s Kinneret Swimathon

The Kinneret swim a thon for women is an annual fundraising event for the "Sadnat Shiluv in Gvaot.  The swimathon, a non-competitive swimming challenge which takes place on the shores of the Kinneret and provides a sense of great satisfaction and strength to the swimmers and the extended Sadna family.

This experiential and non-competitive initiative was developed to reflect the educational vision of the Sadna itself, which embodies the values of self-empowerment, acceptance of the “other” and giving back to society.

The swimathon was established as a means of raising funds for the educational and employment initiatives taking place in the Sadna.  Through the successes of previous swimathons, the Sadna was able to build conference centers, an in-house bakery, coffee shop, arts, and crafts center and a petting zoo. This past year, the swimathon enabled us to build a sports center.

The   2019 Kinneret swimathon will raise funds for the construction of a unique learning site for the Yuvalim School, which is operated by the Sadna.

The estimated cost of the project is 1,000,000 NIS.  Each swimmer is committed to raising a minimum of 2,000 NIS in donations for the benefit of the project.
